A classic gone sour

When I first moved here, this was the "place" to go. The owner controls the DJs choice of music so it is often horrible. They rarely if ever play new music. In addition, Salt Lake City has lifted its law that bars have paid memberships to get in. This bar is the only bar in town that still enforces paid memberships. They think it keeps money, but they've lost a lot of regular customers. The regulars there are not friendly either. I'd rather go to "less-classy" places where the customers are cool, you don't have to pay to get in just for a beer, and the music isn't just cher and the village people.

Neighborhood bar but reletively friendly people

I went to Try-Angles on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 and I found that once the club got going even on a Tuesday it was quite lively. There was a good mix of people, they have darts, pool, and an outdoor smoking patio which most of the guests used repeatedly. It was dart league night and these guys seemed very cliquish not associating with anyone but their own group. About two hours after I got there a large birthday bash came in and most of them were in their younger 20's, many cute guys and silly girls but they were respectible and did not alienate any other guests. I enjoyed my evening there and plan to go their again tonight. I wish I could meet a chaser there and after reading the previous reviews it may just be a chub/chaser bar. We will see.

Should be more trans friendly!!

I had a friend that's a cross dresser kicked out of Try Angles a while back. I think that gay bars should be especially tolerent of the differences between and among people!
