UTAH UNDIE RUN 2013: Protest against Utah being so uptight. GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT Sunday September 22nd at Library Square SLC. 4:30pm-10pm This event is for everyone, all shapes, all sizes, all ages 18+, small children are allowed & Free, Please Invite your friends & share!!! GOALS -To change the worlds perception of Utah. -To break our previous Guinness Book World Record for largest gathering of people in their underpants or knickers & to bolster our record against NYC who failed to break our current record Aug 5th of this year. -To donate tens of thousands of articles of clothing to the local homeless shelters. -To get Utah to wake up and realize it's time to change some silly old laws which alienate many of its citizens, hurt tourism and our economy. We have made the event a lot larger with Bounce Houses, Mechanical Bulls, Race, Costume Contests & More. New Costume Contests for sponsor packages ranging in value. Here are the contests that we will be doing throughout the after party from 7pm-9pm Best Group Theme. Best Costume Men Best Costume Women Best Costume Couple Most Outrageous Biggest Undies Harry Scary Man Best Body Painting Best Costume for a Cause. Best Wild Due to outstanding circumstances we will be charging admission this year. only $8 (cheapest run in Utah) Unfortunately SLC is requiring us to pay for closing the streets, SLCPD directing traffic, permits, insurance, and cost of the event as a whole. With that said we have kept the fee to a minimum and have added a lot of value and a lot of new features. We know that charging this year kind of sucks, but we've kept it to a minimal to make sure Utah Undie Run can be here for years to come. Better sound, more things to do, more prizes etc. Utah Undie Run is a registered Non-Profit, and the $ and thousands of clothing donations really do go toward a good cause. (yes undies are allowed) NO COVER. 4:30pm-5:30pm Pre-Party We encourage participants to donate the clothing off their back to the homeless/needy at our designated donation station. Once you have donated your clothing, head over to one of the "art stations" and feel free to use your body as a canvas and write all over your body what you would like to see change in the state of Utah. This could be law changes or a message supporting any organization, whatever you see fit. Get creative with it. Once you are in your skivvies and covered with statements that are important to you, enjoy the music and check out some of our sponsors’ booths & fun things to do. Many participants may choose to wear costumes, and this is entirely acceptable and encouraged as long as it still falls within Guinness Guide Lines explained later on. 5:30 pm GUINNESS WORLD RECORD COUNT Rules & Guinness Guidelines. We ask that all participants be 18+, beyond that people of any age are welcome. Small children are allowed and FREE. Guinness Standards: Bottoms must be made for the purpose of being Underpants/Knickers (no basketball shorts), Men CANNOT wear a shirt, and women MAY wear a shirt if they would like. We must be in a contained area as a group for at least 5 minutes straight a horn will be blow to mark the start and end of this 5 minute period. 6pm UTAH UNDIE RUN BEGINS It is a 5K run from Library Square west to state street, north on state, up around the capitol and back to Library Square. Please stop for TRAX, stop for SLCPD when they direct traffic through the event. Be respectful SLCPD are very friendly, doing a great job and keeping us safe. They will treat you the way you treat them. RESPECT! 7pm-10pm Undie After Party: Utah's best DJ's, public speakers, costume contests, awards, ride the mechanical bull & bounce in the bounce house, tally up our count for Guinness Book World Record & ENJOY THE ENERGY 10pm-1am Official Utah Undie Run After After Parties Crowd disperses to their favorite of one of our sponsored bars that will allow Undie Runners in to party & get their drink on......responsibly. NO COVER at these locations. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: -Clothing that isn't too trashed to donate to the homeless. (think winter please) -Running Shoes and Socks -It is a good idea for one participant per group to bring a backpack to hold personal items, purses, wallets, etc. (Check pockets before donating clothing) -WATER -Hit the bathroom before you come as there aren't any bathrooms along the run -I.D. if you plan on going to the 21+ after party STAY IN THE LOOP, SHARE, RSVP & REPOST, #UtahUndieRun ♥ You’re going to be pissed off if you forget this incredible event and the pictures start to surface on the web.
